Job summary

Cambro Manufacturing is seeking an Automation Engineer II, Mid Level, to design, develop and implement automated manufacturing equipment and control systems.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, lead validation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies while driving continuous improvement and safety.

This role requires a BS in engineering, 5+ years of automation experience, PLC/HMI programming, and strong project leadership.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automation, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing engineering, preferably injection molding.
• Able to apply advanced math and statistics to analyze data.
• 2D/3D drawing in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5-2018).
• Programming and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs.
• Experience with servo/stepper motor systems and robotic controls.

Responsibilities

• Develops, codes, and commissions automated systems, including PLC programming, robotics and motion control.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues to minimize downtime.
• Manages automation projects from scope through deployment.
• Validates protocols and ensures safety, industry and quality standards.
• Analyzes production workflows to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Creates technical reports, SOPs, and electrical documentation.
