Job summary
GAF is seeking a Corporate Automation and Controls Engineer IV to provide technical leadership for control and automation systems across plants. You will guide data acquisition, production network management, and project execution, driving standardization and performance improvements.
The role requires deep engineering mastery, strategic project leadership, and mentoring of plant controls personnel. Travel up to 60% is expected, supporting multiple sites and continuous process manufacturing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
- 5+ years of controls engineering in continuous manufacturing is required.
- 10+ years of controls engineering in continuous manufacturing is preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Proficiency with Rockwell Automation software and Allen-Bradley drives.
- HMI development experience with FTView or Wonderware.
- Experience maintaining production networks and PLC systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and mentoring skills.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary internal engineering resource for control systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve plant performance and share best practices.
- Lead and facilitate strategic projects across multiple plants.
- Provide training and coaching to plant controls personnel.
- Coordinate with controls group to maintain standards and information.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems related to production lines.
- Ensure implementation of technical standards and project success.
