Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an Automated Test Engineer (ATE) for a 100% U.S.-based remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. The position requires extensive software testing experience, including automated testing using frameworks like Selenium, and strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.

Qualified candidates will have 10+ years in software testing, expertise in CI/CD, version control, and a solid understanding of SDLC/Agile methodologies.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python and proven track record on complex software projects.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing with Agile/SDLC understanding.
• Proficiency with test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions) and version control systems (Git, Subversion).
• Knowledge of databases/SQL, APIs, and various testing types (functional, regression, integration, UAT).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills; able to mentor junior testers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures to meet end-user requirements.
• Write test cases, scripts, and identify data for test scenarios; conduct walkthroughs with stakeholders.
• Perform verification and testing of IT systems; document and communicate results and metrics.
• Support analysis of test results and resolution of open issues; report progress to management.
• Create daily test metrics; propose improvements to current procedures and configurations.
• Occasionally perform other IT systems engineering activities as needed.
