Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Master Technician in the United States to diagnose drivability, air conditioning and electrical systems, while mentoring a team to improve customer care and satisfaction. You will interact directly with customers, educating them on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicles, and lead by example in a fast-paced shop.

The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership qualities, and the ability to explain complex issues in understandable terms, with flexibility

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 8+ ASE certifications preferred (A1–A8).
• Section 609 Certification required.
• State inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check completed.
• Ability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician levels as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies via formal training.
• Assist teammates and maintain a clean, organized shop.
