Job summary

Travelers Insurance in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Adjuster to manage a high-complexity caseload from first notice of loss through resolution. You will evaluate coverages, negotiate settlements, and coordinate litigation with Counsel and internal partners.

The ideal candidate holds an active adjuster license, a Bachelor's degree, 4+ years of bodily injury or property damage litigation experience, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Four years of bodily injury or property damage claim experience.
• Experience with claims management and estimating software; strong MS Office skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex information.
• Strong negotiation and independent decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of injury and/or property damage claims from first notice through resolution.
• Conduct detailed investigations to gather evidence and establish reserves.
• Evaluate claim information to determine coverage and resolution options.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and legal representatives.
• Develop and implement strategy for complex claims and coordinate resources.
• Prepare detailed reports on status, trends and outcomes for senior management.
• Collaborate with legal, underwriting, and other departments for coordinated handling.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all claim activities and communications.
