Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Manager or Director to join our Central Wisconsin team with locations in Eau Claire, La Crosse, Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wausau and Tomah. You will plan, supervise, and deliver audit engagements, lead engagement decisions, and mentor staff while ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.

The role requires 6+ years in public accounting, a CPA license, and strong communication and leadership skills with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 6+ years of public accounting experience (audits, reviews, compilations).
• Current CPA license required.
• Advanced technical knowledge of audit, accounting and tax concepts.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and control all phases of audits for clients assigned by Principals.
• Plan timing, staffing and execution of assurance engagements for efficiency and value.
• Lead engagement progress decisions and keep the Engagement Principal informed.
• Develop and mentor staff; participate in recruiting and training efforts.
• Oversee engagement letters, discuss terms with clients and approve sign-off.
• Evaluate internal controls and audit programs, and adjust as needed.
• Monitor time budgets and deadlines; communicate updates to the Engagement Principal.
• Conduct final client meetings and ensure client satisfaction.
