Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Manager or Director to join our Central Wisconsin team with locations including Eau Claire, La Crosse, Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wausau and Tomah.

Responsibilities include planning, supervising, and controlling audit engagements, leading engagement teams, and maintaining strong client relationships. A CPA and 6+ years in public accounting are required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of public accounting experience with audits and financial statement work.
• Current CPA license required.
• Willingness to travel to client sites, including overnight stays.
• Proven leadership and staff mentoring abilities.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control all phases of assurance engagements for clients assigned by Principals.
• Lead engagement planning, staffing, and execution to deliver value to clients.
• Develop a trained team through recruiting, planning assignments, and mentoring staff.
• Oversee engagement letters, discuss terms with clients, and manage fees.
• Evaluate internal controls and audit programs and revise as needed.
• Monitor budgets and deadlines, report progress to Engagement Principal, and finalize client meetings.
