Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Manager or Director to join our Central Wisconsin team, with locations in Eau Claire, La Crosse, Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wausau and Tomah. The role emphasizes planning, supervising, and delivering high-quality audits and related services, with a focus on client relationships and team development.

Applicants should have a CPA, 6+ years of public accounting experience, and strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement prep, audits, reviews, and compilations.
• Current CPA license required.
• Advanced technical knowledge of audit, accounting, and tax concepts.
• Ability to travel to client sites including overnight travel.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Dynamic interpersonal manner with capacity to train staff.
• Excellent client service orientation with ability to expand services.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control all phases of the Firm’s regular services for clients delegated by Principals.
• Plan timing, staffing and execution of assurance engagements to deliver value.
• Lead decision-making for engagements/clients; inform Engagement Principal of major decisions.
• Develop a trained team through recruitment, planning, problem resolution, and mentoring.
• Supervise engagement letter preparation and discuss terms with the client.
• Evaluate internal controls and audit programs; revise as needed for approval.
• Monitor engagement progress, budgets and deadlines; communicate developments to the Engagement Principal; prepare final client meetings.
