Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Manager or Director to join our Central Wisconsin team. Locations include Eau Claire, La Crosse, Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wausau and Tomah. You will oversee planning, staffing, and execution of assurance engagements for clients. The role demands a CPA, 6+ years in public accounting, strong client-relations skills, and willingness to travel to client sites as needed. You will mentor staff and ensure quality service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations.
• Current CPA license required.
• Advanced technical knowledge of audit, accounting, and tax concepts.
• Ability to travel to client sites that may also require overnight travel.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to show strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control all phases of the Firm's regular services for clients.
• Lead engagement planning, staffing, and execution to deliver value.
• Manage major engagement decisions and keep principals informed.
• Develop staff through coaching and training.
• Oversee engagement letters, negotiations, and timetables.
• Evaluate internal controls and audit programs and adjust as needed.
• Monitor progress, deadlines, and client communications.
