Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture is seeking a Senior Assortment Analyst to own the analytical framework for assortment planning, item performance, and optimization. You will design SKU-level methodologies, drive reporting, and provide guidance to junior analysts within a fast-growing omnichannel retailer.

You will collaborate with Merchants and Planning leaders, oversee launch scorecards, rationalization analyses, and end-of-life transitions while advancing the analytics capability across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
• 4–7 years of analytical experience in retail merchandising, planning, or analytics.
• Advanced Excel skills, including multi-variable modeling and large data handling.
• Proficiency in SQL with data sourcing and validation across systems.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills; experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Experience mentoring analysts or reviewing analytics quality.

Responsibilities

• Own assortment productivity reporting: design, own, and improve SKU and category reporting (velocity, sell-through, margin, inventory).
• Lead rationalization analysis: quantify sales, margin, and productivity impact; present to leadership.
• Own depth and breadth methodology: build models for depth of investments and price point coverage.
• Size whitespace opportunity: lead market and competitive analysis; inform line review strategy.
• Set analytical standards: define methodology and QA; review junior analysts' work.
• Own launch scorecards and transition analytics for new item introductions and end-of-life.
• Improve forecast accuracy by partnering with Demand Planning on post-launch learning.
• Deliver executive-ready analytics and partner with Merchants and Planners.
• Lead complex ad hoc analysis for in-season decisions and line reviews.
• Build scalable tooling to shift capacity from production to interpretation.
