Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture is seeking a Senior Assortment Analyst to own the analytical framework behind assortment planning, productivity measurement, and new item performance. You will design SKU-level methodologies and deliver recommendations shaping what the company carries, how deeply it buys, and when to exit.

You’ll lead productivity reporting, rationalization analysis, and post-launch scorecarding, with direct exposure to Merchants and Planning leadership and a path toward managerial roles

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of analytical experience in retail merchandising, planning, or analytics.
• Advanced Excel skills for multi-variable modeling and large datasets.
• Proficiency in SQL with ability to source, join, and validate data across systems.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills for senior leadership presentations.
• Experience mentoring analysts and reviewing analytical work for quality.

Responsibilities

• Own assortment productivity reporting and evolve SKU and category metrics.
• Lead rationalization analysis including tail SKU exits and transitions.
• Develop depth/breadth models for item investments and price architecture.
• Identify whitespace opportunities through market and competitive analysis.
• Set QA standards and review junior analysts' work for rigor.
• Build launch scorecards and post-launch performance diagnostics.
• Own transition analytics to ensure clean exits and protected margins.
• Partner with Demand Planning to improve new item forecasts.
