Job summary

Bob's Discount Furniture is seeking a Senior Assortment Analyst to own SKU-level methodologies and drive assortment decisions across planning and analytics. You will shape reporting, lead end-to-end rationalization, and guide new item forecasting with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of analytical experience with depth in retail merchandising, planning, or analytics.
• Advanced Excel skills, including multi-variable modeling, large dataset handling, and building tools others rely on.
• Proficiency in SQL, including data sourcing, joining, and validation across systems.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and structure analysis without direction.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Experience mentoring analysts or reviewing analytical work for quality.

Responsibilities

• Own assortment productivity reporting: design, own, and continuously improve SKU and category-level reporting.
• Lead rationalization analysis: quantify sales, margin, and productivity impact and present to leadership.
• Own depth and breadth methodology: build models for investment in items and programs.
• Size whitespace opportunity: lead market and competitive analysis to identify gaps.
• Set analytical standards: define methodology and QA standards and review junior analysts.
