Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture is seeking a Senior Assortment Analyst to own the analytical framework for assortment planning, productivity, and new item performance. You will define SKU-level methodologies and deliver recommendations shaping what we carry and how we buy, with a clear path toward management roles.

The role sits in Merchandise Planning & Analytics, leads end-to-end rationalization and forecasting models, and sets standards for the analytics team while mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
• 4–7 years of analytical experience in retail merchandising, planning, or analytics.
• Advanced Excel skills and tooling.
• Proficiency in SQL and data validation across systems.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and structure analysis.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills; experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Experience mentoring analysts or reviewing analytical work for quality.

Responsibilities

• Own assortment productivity reporting: design, own, and improve SKU and category-level reporting.
• Lead rationalization analysis: quantify sales, margin and productivity impact and present recommendations to leadership.
• Own depth and breadth methodology: build models for investment in items and programs.
• Size whitespace opportunity: conduct market and competitive analysis to inform line review strategy.
• Set analytical standards: define methodology and QA standards and review junior analysts.
