Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Dallas seeks a Senior Associate/VP with deep Natural Resources experience to lead front-to-back execution of relationship-based lending transactions. You will guide structuring, underwriting, and closing efforts while mentoring junior team members and coordinating with internal coverage bankers and external counterparties.

You will leverage sector knowledge to refine portfolio strategy, inform capital allocation, and identify commercial opportunities within the existing book,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or other quantitative discipline.
• 5 - 7 years’ financial services experience in corporate lending, corporate finance or financial services
• Extensive knowledge of Natural Resources sector (e.g., energy, oil & gas, power and renewables, metals and mining), including familiarity with reserve-based lending (RBL) and borrowing base structures
• Strong technical skillset with experience in financial modeling, including capital structures and covenant frameworks
• Superior writing and presentation skills with ability to prepare detailed credit summaries
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate independently and thrive in a team-oriented environment
• Highly organized and adaptable to handle multiple competing priorities
• Commercially driven mindset

Responsibilities

• Drive deal execution: Support structuring, underwriting, and closing of relationship-based lending transactions across facilities and term loans with emphasis on Natural Resources.
• Leadership on Transactions: Manage multiple deals at various stages, coordinate across teams, escalate significant matters with recommendations.
• Engage with external counterparties: Negotiate with banks, borrowers, and external counsel; shape commercial terms.
• Shape portfolio strategy: Provide analytics and reporting guidance for senior management and internal stakeholders.
• Add commercial value: Propose ways to deepen client relationships and position RLG as a strategic partner.
