Job summary

Jonus Group is seeking an Associate Actuary to lead complex actuarial analyses across multiple P&C lines, driving data-driven decisions and process improvements. The role offers ownership from analysis to implementation and mentorship for junior actuaries.

The position requires 5+ years in actuarial pricing/reserving, ACAS progress, and proficiency with SQL, R, Python, or VBA. A hybrid work arrangement is provided with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Progress toward ACAS designation with continued pursuit of FCAS preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of actuarial pricing and/or reserving experience within Property and Casualty insurance.
• Proficiency with SQL, R, Python, VBA, or similar data analysis tools.
• Prior experience with rate filings preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and take ownership from analysis through implementation.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Lead rate indications, reserving analyses, profitability studies, and other actuarial projects across multiple lines of business.
• Provide actuarial support for a variety of insurance products, including specialty and catastrophe-exposed risks.
• Support the development and filing of rate changes with regulatory authorities.
• Apply actuarial and business expertise to develop effective, data-driven solutions.
• Identify and implement improved methods and processes to enhance team effectiveness.
• Present analyses, findings, and recommendations clearly to support business decisions.
• Maintain thorough documentation to ensure analyses can be understood and reproduced.
• Mentor and support the development of junior actuarial professionals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on actuarial, pricing, product, and business initiatives.
