Job summary

TSAY FEDERAL CONTRACTING SERVICES LLC seeks an Assistant Controller to oversee the general ledger and financial reporting in a government contracting environment. The role ensures GAAP compliance, FAR/DFARS, and DCAA requirements, supporting audits and rate management.

You will manage close cycles, review statements, and lead accounting staff while partnering with Contracts, Program Management, and executives to maintain accurate financial data and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 4 – 6+ years of management experience.
• Strong experience with general ledger management, close processes, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger operations, including project and indirect cost accounting.
• Manage close cycles and ensure financial reporting accuracy and timeliness.
• Review financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with government requirements.
• Analyze indirect rates and support provisional and final rate calculations.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, internal controls and company policies and procedures.
• Prepare incurred cost submissions.
• Serve as primary contact for financial statement and DCAA audits.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies and procedures.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff.
• Conduct regular internal audits of billing and payroll processes to ensure accuracy, compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and the integrity of financial data. Includes reviewing transactions, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Contracts, Program Management, and executive leadership.
