Job summary

PQT Ayaquhs LLC seeks an Assistant Controller to support the Corporate Controller in accounting operations for a federal government contracting firm. This remote role involves audits, cost submissions, multi-entity close, and leadership of 3–5 accounting staff. Travel up to 10% is required.

The position requires a CPA-style background, 10+ years in government contracting accounting, and strong GAAP/FAR/CAS experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including federal government contracting.
• Experience leading DCAA audits and supporting audits from planning through resolution.
• Direct experience preparing Incurred Cost Submissions/Indirect Cost.
• Strong experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and consolidated financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support audits and regulatory reviews, including financial statement audits and tax-related support.
• Prepare and oversee Incurred Cost Submissions and related documentation.
• Assist monthly, quarterly, and annual closes for multiple subsidiaries per US GAAP.
• Oversee project accounting for government contracts and cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition.
• Manage intercompany transactions and consolidation across subsidiaries.
• Maintain policies and internal controls to ensure GAAP, FAR, CAS compliance.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff (3–5 people).
• Coordinate with finance, contracts, compliance, and operations to improve reporting and audit readiness.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and indirect rate management.
