Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Portland, OR is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Assembly Process Engineer III to lead and mentor in the Corporate Manufacturing Engineering organization. You will drive assembly process improvements, coach engineers, and manage multiple projects with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and schedule.

The role requires hands-on leadership, adaptability, and strong communication across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field and 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• 5–7 years in manufacturing/assembly engineering or related disciplines.
• 2+ years leading projects with multiple stakeholders.
• 2+ years of experience supporting launches, process improvements or capital projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (data analysis, reporting, pivot tables, dashboards).
• Proficiency in PowerPoint for professional leadership presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of assembly manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Manufacturing Engineers across locations.
• Support safety-critical manufacturing systems, tooling, and controls.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
• Ensure designs meet safety, quality, productivity, and ergonomic requirements.
• Lead multiple projects from concept through implementation with risk and resource management.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Plants to ensure project success.
• Mentor engineers, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement.
