Job summary

Whatnot is seeking an Art Director, 2D Illustration to lead brand visuals across digital experiences, campaigns, and events. You will guide creative direction, collaborate with designers, engineers, copywriters, and marketers from concept to delivery.

You will bring 7+ years of design leadership, a strong portfolio, and a eye for fashion-forward visuals while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Remote/hybrid work with office hubs in SF, NY, Seattle, or LA is supported.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in brand, campaign, or creative studio work.
• Strong visual thinking with hands-on execution and portfolio.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts into compelling visuals.
• Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Suite, and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop visual strategies, art direction, and creative for brand touchpoints.
• Collaborate across designers, engineers, copywriters, marketers, and leads.
• Move from brief to execution, trimming scope while maintaining craft.
• Evolve moodboards and sketches into production-ready assets.
• Provide actionable feedback to the team and maintain a positive environment.
• Lead projects end-to-end with cross-functional partners.
• Verbalize concepts clearly to stakeholders and teams.
• Utilize tools like Figma, Adobe CS, and AI workflows to improve work.
• Stay updated on fashion, design trends, and Whatnot community.
