Job summary

Graybar is seeking an Area Manager - Customer Service in Columbia, SC to support the Branch Manager in coordinating resources across multiple locations and ensuring adherence to company policies and service standards.

You will oversee customer service, administrative, warehouse and transportation activities, lead staff, and drive improvements in efficiency and customer satisfaction. This senior role requires strong leadership and a proven operations background.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of senior management or operations experience.
• 4 year degree preferred or equivalent business/operations background.
• Knowledge of wholesale distribution and supply chain management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Strong oral and written communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise customer service, admin, warehouse and transportation functions to meet service standards.
• Participate on Branch Steering Committee to resolve service and operational issues.
• Staff branch service/admin roles and train staff in procedures and systems.
• Set branch schedules and procedures to meet local service requirements.
• Resolve local service failures and prevent recurrence.
• Call or visit customers to ensure service expectations are met.
• Host customer tours of the branch when appropriate.
• Assist Branch Manager in managing profitability, expenses and assets.
