Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Architectural SME to lead design across the U.S. data center portfolio. You will provide technical direction, influence design strategy, and coordinate complex MEP, security, and operations requirements with clients and internal teams.

The role emphasizes architectural excellence, mentorship, and collaboration with business development to win and shape high-value data center programs across hyperscale and colocation clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 20+ years of experience in architectural design, with 15+ years in mission-critical/data center environments.
• Licensed Architect (RA) with strong knowledge of building codes, ADA, and sustainability frameworks.
• Proven expertise in site planning, envelope design, modular construction, and BIM coordination.
• Proven record of technical innovation solving client’s challenges.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across multiple programs, guiding design quality and consistency.
• Shape upfront planning strategies with hyperscale clients and lead site and building design.
• Drive innovation in modularization, envelope systems, sustainability, and integrated building systems.
• Ensure code compliance, constructability, and cross-discipline coordination.
• Represent Jacobs’ design expertise in client engagements and strategic pursuits.
