Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Architectural SME to provide technical leadership across the U.S. data center portfolio, with a focus on hyperscale, colocation, and advanced manufacturing facilities.

The role emphasizes design strategy, coordination of MEP, security, and operations while advancing Jacobs' standards. You will mentor staff, engage with clients, lead design reviews, and drive modularization, sustainability, and high reliability across multiple concurrent projects, with travel up to 25%

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 20+ years of experience in architectural design, with 15+ years in mission‑critical/data center environments.
• Licensed Architect (RA) with knowledge of building codes, ADA, and sustainability frameworks.
• Proven expertise in site planning, envelope design, modular construction, and BIM coordination.
• Proven record of technical innovation solving client’s challenges.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and multi‑tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior architectural authority across programs, guiding design quality and consistency while advancing Jacobs’ standards for mission critical facilities.
• Shape upfront planning strategies with hyperscale clients and drive design innovation across modularization, envelope systems, sustainability, and integrated building systems.
• Represent Jacobs’ design expertise in client engagements, industry forums, and strategic pursuits; collaborate with BD and delivery teams to win and shape complex data center programs.
• Mentor architects within the data center practice and contribute to thought leadership and industry presence.
• Balance strategy with hands-on involvement: support design reviews, QA, and construction administration across concurrent projects.
