Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a Data Scientist to advance the next generation of AI/ML technologies. You will work closely with scientists, software engineers and product managers to provide technical leadership and strategic direction, while driving hands-on-keyboard innovation in our AI capabilities.

You will help shape the technical vision, collaborate with team members, and create impactful LLM-driven applications.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD or Masters) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of applied machine learning / research experience with production-grade models.
• Deep expertise in LLM training or post-training / deployment at scale.
• Strong technical leadership experience, including mentoring teams and driving technical strategy.
• Advanced knowledge of Python, Deep Learning frameworks, and cloud technologies.
• Expert-level understanding of GPU technologies and optimisation techniques.
• Outstanding communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Track record of solving complex technical challenges at scale.

Responsibilities

• Work with teammates to develop innovative solutions to AI safety and cyber detection problems.
• Co-develop end-to-end research and development pipelines: data sourcing, labeling, modeling, evaluation, and production collaboration.
• Interoperate with product and engineering teams to ensure fit-for-purpose, efficient solutions.
• Drive innovation in LLM-related research in collaboration with security experts.
• Balance accuracy, efficiency, and costs of deployed models.
• Make strategic GenAI model architecture and deployment decisions.
• Lead research strategy for new GenAI agents/LLMs and set technical direction.
• Drive innovation in LLM applications like reasoning and interactivity.
• Mentor Data Scientists and foster engineering excellence.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives aligning technical strategy with business goals.
• Represent CrowdStrike’s technical excellence through publications and talks.
• Establish best practices and evaluation frameworks for the team.
