Job summary

Juniper Square is hiring Applied AI Engineers to own end-to-end delivery of AI-native solutions. You will work with internal stakeholders to understand problems, scope, design, build, deploy, and operate what you ship, staying close to users and driving impact.

This AI-first role requires strong systems design and hands-on full-stack engineering, with the ability to design scalable, observable architectures and partner across platform, R&D, and product teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience shipping production software end to end and building AI-native apps.
• Strong systems design skills; ability to whiteboard real systems.
• Full-stack engineering across data, services, UI, and underlying infrastructure.
• Hands-on infrastructure ownership: deploying on a major cloud provider, with containers, IaC, CI/CD, and monitoring.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development and ability to debug everything shipped.
• Translate ambiguous business needs into requirements and deliver software.
• Strong product judgment: scope, prioritize, and know when something is done.
• Excellent written communication and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
• Potential to work directly with clients as the team’s scope grows.

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify workflows where custom agents create leverage.
• Translate ambiguous problems into clear requirements, scope, and acceptance criteria.
• Carry solutions through prototype, validation, hardening, deployment, and rollout to production.
• Design and build agentic systems: retrieval and context design, tool integration, orchestration, observability, and cost controls.
• Design event-driven, scalable systems that ingest and process large volumes of data and documents.
• Collaborate with Juniper Square's platform, R&D, and product engineering teams on core systems.
• Make engineering trade-offs balancing speed with reliability, security, or maintainability.
• Own deployed solutions through adoption, post-launch feedback, and ongoing operation.
• Produce documentation, train users, and manage rollouts to drive adoption.
• Set the technical bar for junior engineers and grow toward leading client-facing projects.
