Job summary

Dana Canada Corp. in Ohio seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead product design and validation for automotive powertrain components.

The role emphasizes DFMEA, design reviews, CAD modeling, FEA/CAE analyses, and cross-functional communication across program management, sales, manufacturing, and quality. You'll drive cost-saving initiatives, manage prototypes and DV/PV testing, and contribute to a gated program management process from pre-sourcing through SOP and post-SOP.

Qualifications

Education: BSME or BSEE; graduate degree preferred.
Extensive axle or automotive powertrain experience is expected.
Strong GD&T knowledge and design for manufacturing awareness.

Responsibilities

Develop product design proposals to meet customer specifications and test requirements.
Lead product development and validation activities through quotation phase.
Support cost saving initiatives and proposals.
Coordinate design reviews and DFMEA activities with cross-functional teams.
Provide technical support during pre-sourcing, validation, SOP, and post-SOP.
Prepare test reports and present findings to customers and internal reviews.
Drive APQP activities and communicate issues to Dana teams.
