Job summary

Dana Corp in Maumee, OH, seeks a senior engineer to apply axle and driveshaft technologies to OE platforms. You will coordinate with engineering SMEs and Dana locations on pre-sourcing activities and support global program standards across Dana engineering. Responsibilities include design reviews, CAD/FEA work, and cost-saving initiatives.

The role requires 7+ years in axle/auto powertrain, ABACUS/FEA tool experience, and strong leadership in APQP and DFMEA. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BSME or BSEE degree; graduate degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in axle/automotive powertrain field.
• Experience with CAE tools including ABACUS/FEA/FESAFE.
• Leading APQP, DVP&R, and DFMEA activities.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to complete stack-ups.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop product design proposals to meet customer specifications and test requirements.
• Lead product development and validation activities including CAD drawings and FEA.
• Develop and support cost-saving initiatives and proposals.
• Ensure design reviews align with gated program management.
• Provide technical support to customers during pre-sourcing and development phases.
• Communicate engineering issues to Dana internal functions (PM, Sales, Quality, Warranty).
• Prepare technical presentations and conduct reviews with customers and internal teams.
• Propose and critique design concepts for cost savings and manufacturability.
