Job summary

Dana in Maumee, OH is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to drive design reviews and lead launches of powertrain components across multiple programs. You will collaborate with Dana groups to ensure timely completion and address production issues.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred; other engineering degrees considered with strong experience in product design.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design or manufacture of powertrain components & assemblies for the automotive industry, ideally axle, gearbox, PTU, disconnects, propshaft and eDrive systems.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude, along with strong analytical capability.
• Understanding of engineering prints and specifications.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within Dana and customers in a professional manner.
• Must have strong project management/follow-up skills to organize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of automotive quality standards including APQP, DVP&R, 8D, PPAP,VE/VA, & FMEA
• Must be self-directed and motivated to assume responsibility.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Design Review (Launch) Process with Dana groups to meet program timing.
• Lead programs through critical launch and production issues.
• Engineer customer product development for multiple programs.
• Develop sizing for vehicle applications using analysis tools.
• Address issues quickly through technical problem solving.
• Develop design proposals to meet specifications and test requirements.
• Prepare and conduct technical presentations for customers and Dana teams.
• Define proposals including sizing, priority, and requirements per the design process.
• Develop and manage DVP&Rs and DFMEAs to support programs.
• Collaborate with Dana internal functions and external customers and suppliers.
• Interface with customer engineering and other disciplines through build phases.
• Track and close Lessons Learned across programs.
