Job summary

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; other engineering degrees considered with strong product design experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in design or manufacture of powertrain components for the automotive industry.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and analytical capability.
• Understanding of engineering prints and specifications.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills; ability to build customer relationships.
• Strong project management and follow-up skills to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Design Review (Launch) process with Dana groups to meet program timing.
• Lead programs through launch and production issues.
• Provide engineering responsibility for customer product development across multiple programs.
• Use analysis tools to size driveshaft components for vehicle applications.
• Perform technical problem solving to address issues quickly.
• Develop design proposals to meet customer specifications and test requirements.
• Prepare and conduct technical presentations to customers and Dana internal teams.
• Define proposals including sizing, priority, and requirements following the Design Review.
• Develop and manage DVP&Rs and DFMEAs to support programs.
• Collaborate with Dana functions and suppliers during sourcing, development, launch and production.
• Interface with customer engineering and other disciplines to support builds.
• Track Lessons Learned items to closure and share across programs.
