Research Productions Corp. seeks an experienced Inside Sales/Application Engineer to support product applications and handle pricing, submittals, and customer inquiries across channels.

You will liaise with Marketing and Engineering to expand vertical markets and ensure accurate order entry with strong technical support. The role requires a customer-focused, proactive thinker with HVAC knowledge, able to read plans and provide engineered solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business management preferred.
  • 5+ years in account reps or application engineering, HVAC preferred.
  • Experience as Inside Sales or engineering role in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of DRI-STEEM product line preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand DriSteem applications and HVAC integration.
  • Coordinate with Marketing on offerings and SWOT analysis to expand markets.
  • Manage customer orders for pricing accuracy, custom requests, submittals and warranties.
  • Respond to and resolve customer concerns.
  • Support internal inside sales activities and teamwork.
  • Provide product information, pricing, drawings, budgets, and psychometric calculations.
  • Write orders per sales policies and verify information.
  • Give market feedback to Marketing and Engineering.

Overview

Perform assigned product application and related sales support functions for all sales channels, inside sales, and other internal customers promptly that will enhance the reputation of the company and its products, with specific emphasis on Custom and Engineered to Order applications. Communicates company policy and customer needs to ensure the highest professional relationship.

Responsibilities
  • Deep understanding of how DriSteem products are applied in the field as well as their interaction with the complete HVAC systems they are integrated with.
  • Liaison with Marketing on existing and new product offerings and their respective SWOT analysis for improving our market position and expanding vertical markets served.
  • Manage customer orders for pricing accuracy, custom product requests, change orders, submittals, specification credits (OEM split commissions) and warranty inquiries. Engages with engineering and Product Management as needed. Follows Custom Order Procedure.
  • Respond and resolve all customer concerns.
  • Coordinate/communicate internal inside sales activities to ensure a collaborative work effort and “team approach”.
  • Proficient use of a consultative selling approach which contributes to the growth and profitability of the company.
  • Make recommendations that will improve existing products, or which will lead toward expansion of vertical market applications for existing products as well as the development of new/improved products.
  • Provides support on all products that may include the following:
    • Product information, application, sizing
    • Pricing, written quotations, submittals
    • System drawings complete with piping and wiring details
    • Project budgeting
    • Psychometric calculations
    • Final representative purchase pricing
    • Develop rapport with representative offices
    • Help create and maintain product documentation to define DriCalc architecture. Be a supporting resource for DriCalc developer and Product Manager questions.
    • Marketing literature and sales presentations
  • Write orders and verify information is correct and follows sales policies and procedures prior to order entry.
  • Work as an internal partner with Marketing and Engineering to be their “eyes” in the marketplace providing product and competitive feedback.
  • Seek and recommend ways to improve sales methods and procedures and to increase overall efficiency.
  • Fulfills sales rep and consulting engineer training as needed.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Quote accurate prices to all customers in a prompt, and professional manner.

  • Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Travel as needed, typically less than 20%.
  • Support continual compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
  • Follow all company safety and health rules and policies and promote safe work practices. Report any safety concerns to a supervisor/manager.
  • Perform related work as apparent or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Management, or skilled trade in a related field.
  • Five plus years of related account rep and/or application engineering experience, preferably in HVAC products.
  • Prior experience as an Inside Sales Representative, in Engineering, or other technical positions at DRI-STEEM or other related manufacturing companies.
  • Operational and technical knowledge of the DRI-STEEM product line is preferred.

  • Good understanding of Psychometrics, HVAC system layout, pumps, fans, steam principles with the ability to read plans and specifications and recommend the proper humidification system solution.

  • Collaborative, communicative, and visible member of the Inside Sales team who works well with others.
  • Detail-oriented to ensure systematic procedures are followed for consistency purposes.
  • High energy level and with a positive, professional sales attitude.
  • Keeps respective managers informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management.
