Job summary

RBC Bearings is seeking a Senior Applications Developer to maintain, enhance, and optimize enterprise applications that support our manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to deliver reliable solutions across ERP systems and data-management platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands‑on iSeries/AS400 development experience.
• Strong proficiency with RPGLE and CLLE development.
• Advanced experience with database management systems and data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries.
• Strong programming, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working with Windows Server environments (2012 and newer).
• Advanced knowledge of desktop operating systems and enterprise application support.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and business leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support for ERP and enterprise applications across multiple platforms.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify, analyze, and resolve application issues.
• Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements and modifications to ERP systems.
• Manage and coordinate IT service management change requests.
• Collaborate with vendors and cross‑functional teams to address technical challenges.
• Monitor, document, and manage application changes per Change Management procedures.
• Develop and execute SQL queries, reports, and data extracts for operations and audits.
• Maintain documentation of troubleshooting activities and resolutions.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Support a 24/7 manufacturing environment by ensuring system stability and availability.
• Manage priorities and uphold service level agreements.
