Job summary

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc is seeking a Senior Application Engineer for the Seating Solutions team in Vonore, TN. You will bridge customers and engineering, transforming requirements into manufacturable seat solutions for automotive and commercial vehicles.

You will guide design decisions, support product development, and launch programs with OEMs, internal teams, and field engineering, requiring strong seating systems knowledge and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in application or design.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical contact for assigned customers.
• Lead customer discovery activities, including requirements clarification, engineering reviews, and project scoping discussions.
• Review specifications, prepare technical proposals, and estimate material/design feasibility for pre-award activities.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications for seat assemblies.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing engineering, and quality teams to ensure cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.
• Support product development cycles, including design validation, prototype builds, and launch readiness.
