Job summary

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) seeks a Senior Application Engineer for our Seating Solutions team in Vonore, TN. You will bridge customers with engineering and sales, turning requirements into manufacturable seat solutions for automotive and commercial vehicle industries.

You will collaborate with OEMs and internal teams to guide design decisions, support development, and ensure programs launch successfully.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in application or design engineering.
• Experience with seat design, packaging, or applications in automotive sectors.
• Familiarity with DFMEA/PFMEA, PPAP, APQP processes.
• Ability to read vehicle diagrams, 3D assemblies, installation environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customers.
• Translate customer requirements into clear internal docs and specs.
• Support product development cycles from design to launch.
• Identify risks and propose alternatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely response.
• Prepare design reviews and technical summaries.
• Travel 10-20% to customer sites as needed.
