Job summary

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) is seeking a Senior Application Engineer for the Seating Solutions team in Vonore, TN. You will serve as the technical bridge between customers and our engineering and sales groups, translating requirements into manufacturable seating solutions for automotive and commercial vehicle programs.

This role requires deep seating systems knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting product development, design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years engineering experience in application or design engineering.
• Experience in seat design, packaging, or application engineering for automotive or CV industries.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customers, guiding design decisions and specifications.
• Translate requirements into internal engineering documents, drawings, and seat assemblies.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing engineering, and quality teams to ensure cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.
• Support product development cycles, including validation, prototypes, changes, pre-production trials, and launches.
• Document communications and provide internal training to align teams on customer expectations.
