Job summary

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) in Vonore, Tennessee, is seeking an Application Engineer – Seating to design, develop, test, and document new seating products for commercial vehicles and off-highway applications. You will work as the technical interface with customers, coordinating with OEMs and internal teams to tailor CVG seating solutions to specific requirements.

The role involves CAD modeling (CATIA V5 preferred), feasibility analyses, DFMEA/DVPR development, and supporting launches

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years in product application or design engineering; 2+ years in vehicle manufacturing.
• APQP standards knowledge; CAD/3D modeling in CATIA V5, SolidWorks, or NX; proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and documentation of new seats; create CAD models and drawings; support FEA and related analyses.
• Develop DFMEA and DVPR for programs; coordinate testing to validate FMVSS and customer requirements.
• Manage program refreshes and launches through design, testing, and sample stages.
• Provide technical assistance to customer engineering; communicate changes and VA/VE; collaborate with OEM engineers.
