Job summary

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. (CVG) is seeking a Senior Application Engineer for its Seating Solutions team in Vonore, TN. You will bridge customers with engineering and sales, translating requirements into manufacturable seating solutions for automotive and commercial vehicles.

Travel up to 20% may be required. The role requires a strong background in seating systems, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in application or design engineering.
• Strong seating systems knowledge and communication skills.
• Familiarity with DFMEA / PFMEA, PPAP processes, APQP, and customer launch activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customers, guiding seat design and manufacturability.
• Lead discovery activities, requirements clarification, and project scoping discussions.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering documentation, drawings, and specs for seat assemblies.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.
