Job summary

BECU is hiring a Sr. Manager, Technology – API Platform to lead enterprise API delivery, build platform capabilities, and drive agile practices across engineering teams.

You will shape roadmaps, manage delivery, and partner with business units to align technology with strategic goals. The role requires 3+ years of people leadership and 5+ years in IT with API-driven architectures, experience with Azure, and ERP/domain knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of people leader experience.
• Minimum 5 years IT experience with API driven or integration architectures.
• Experience building technology platforms and teams with modern APIs, microservices, cloud native services, or integration frameworks.
• ERP, Infrastructure/Operations or financial products domain experience.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery and execution for API platform outcomes, aligning to leadership priorities and architectural guardrails.
• Shape technology strategies and roadmaps to support business objectives.
• Identify innovative tools and lead market studies, RFPs, and business cases.
• Develop and coach engineering teams to build a high-performing culture.
• Lead initiatives for scalable, secure APIs built in C#/.NET on Azure (GraphQL for reads and REST for writes).
• Promote Agile practices and align product and technology lifecycles.
• Drive API platform quality: contracts, versioning, error handling, performance, and backward compatibility.
• Align roadmaps with strategic priorities across business units.
• Engage in governance, budgeting, and planning activities.
• Oversee vendor partnerships and SOW reviews.
