Job summary

Par Pacific is seeking a Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston, TX to manage full AP cycles and collaborate with procurement and accounting teams across multiple states. You will learn SAP and Vendor Invoices Management (VIM) while ensuring transactions comply with policy and controls.

Responsibilities include accurate invoice entry, stakeholder collaboration, KPI reporting, month-end close, and ad-hoc finance projects. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant Accounts Payable experience or shared service experience.
• Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with complex spreadsheets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely entry of invoices including resolution of complex transactions through troubleshooting and root cause identification
• Work interactively with all P2P stakeholders (vendors, procurement, business contacts)
• Provide guidance and training to junior accounts payable staff as needed
• Generate and analyze accounts payable reports, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements
• Assist with ad-hoc finance projects and initiatives as needed
• Assist with month end close activities
• Perform account analysis and reconciliation
• Own the creation, distribution, and analysis of KPIs and data requests
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies and procedures
• Provide backup support for cash clearing activities, as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
