Job summary

Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston to manage full-cycle AP transactions and ensure compliance with corporate policies. You will interact with procurement and accounting teams across multiple states and learn SAP and Vendor Invoices Management (VIM).

Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, you will support month-end close, prepare AP reports, and drive process improvements while upholding internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of AP or shared services experience.
• Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn industry terminology and processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with complex spreadsheets.
• Experience with SAP, VIM Open Text, or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely entry of invoices and resolve complex transactions.
• Collaborate with vendors, procurement, and business contacts across P2P processes.
• Provide guidance and train junior accounts payable staff as needed.
• Generate and analyze AP reports; identify process improvements.
• Assist with ad-hoc finance projects and month-end close activities.
• Perform account analyses and reconciliations; support KPI reporting.
• Own creation, distribution, and analysis of data requests.
• Maintain internal controls in line with company policy.
