Job summary

Agenus is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team in Lexington, MA. This hands-on role supports the full AP cycle, collaborating with Finance, Purchasing, internal teams, and vendors to ensure accurate, timely payments.

You will contribute to process improvements, maintain strong internal controls, and help drive efficient AP operations in a fast-paced environment focused on advancing innovative medicines for patients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant Accounts Payable experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with an Accounting focus preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and internal controls.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with Excel emphasis.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large financial datasets.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, confidentiality and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews invoices for accuracy; matches with purchase orders and inputs data into the ERP system.
• Manages the AP mailbox and communicates with operations staff and vendors to resolve issues.
• Processes weekly AP check runs in line with policies and payment terms.
• Prepares checks and wires for weekly disbursement.
• Reconciles vendor statements and addresses discrepancies.
• Assists with AP month-end close and GL associations.
• Supports internal and external audits with required documentation.
