Job summary

Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to manage the full-cycle AP process, including invoice processing, vendor onboarding, and accurate general ledger coding. You will coordinate with Finance, Procurement, and Operations to ensure timely payments and strong internal controls.

The role requires 3–5 years of AP or accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit or high-volume environments, with strong data entry and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 3-5 years progressive accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit or high-volume environment.
• Experience with ERP/AP automation is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end accounts payable, invoicing, vendor onboarding, and general ledger coding.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between POs, invoices, and receiving documents.
• Administer corporate cards and employee expense reimbursements according to policies.
• Maintain vendor information and onboarding through Ramp vendor portal.
• Triage vendor inquiries and support internal/external audits and compliance.
