Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Senior Coordinator in Accounts Payable at our Home Office in Richmond, Virginia. The Senior Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the team with general ledger management activities related to researching escalated or complex open items.

With limited guidance, this role is responsible for the daily analysis of outstanding liabilities to determine the appropriate next steps. Daily, this position will need to blend both successful execution of their own deliverables

Qualifications

• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles and month-end close processes.
• Proficient in Excel with experience in VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Experience with Oracle or similar Cloud ERP systems is preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Drive day-to-day procure to pay process execution and resolve complex exceptions.
• Provide guidance to resolve outstanding liabilities and complexities.
• Perform root-cause analysis to identify variances and trends; support workload balancing.
• Conduct weekly trend analysis using KPIs; assist leadership with recommendations.
• Prepare journal vouchers and reconciliations; assist month-end close and reporting.
