Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Angular/NodeJS Developer to join a 100% U.S.-based remote team. You will build and migrate a cloud-based dashboard for healthcare EDI data, design APIs in Java/NodeJS, and collaborate with back-end engineers to ensure reliable data delivery.

You will work in an Agile environment, contribute to code reviews, and help deploy and monitor services on AWS. A Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in software development are required, with U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a backend focus (Java and/or NodeJS).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments.
• Hands-on Angular experience with API integration.
• Strong knowledge of Java/JavaScript/TypeScript and data transformation.
• Experience building RESTful APIs that consume structured data (XML/JSON).
• Cloud experience (AWS or Azure) and Git/GitHub workflows.
• Familiarity with HIPAA or healthcare data privacy concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard processing healthcare EDI transactions.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS for EDI healthcare records.
• Integrate with internal APIs and data services to deliver live/historical data.
• Support Angular-based dashboard front-end and ensure accurate data display.
• Collaborate with C#/.NET and AWS data engineers to define API contracts.
• Write clean, tested, and documented code; participate in code reviews.
• Perform unit and integration testing across backend services and API layers.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and performance of services on AWS.
• Promote Agile practices and use Git for version control.
