Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking a Principal Android Software Engineer to lead architecture and delivery of shared Android capabilities powering clinical product apps worldwide.

You will own significant portions of the Android system design, including reusable services, WebView/React UI foundations, device connectivity patterns, and clinical workflows, while mentoring engineers in a regulated medical-device environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, ECE or related field required.
• 10+ years of software development with extensive Android experience.
• Proven architecture leadership across multi-product platforms.
• Expertise in Kotlin, Android, networking, DI, multithreading, APIs, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve shared Android platform architecture used by multiple product apps.
• Lead design of common on-device building blocks like authentication, data workflows, and connectivity APIs.
• Partner with product teams, publish contracts and guidance, ensure platform conformance.
• Set coding standards and guide test strategy, CI/CD, and release practices for medical software.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-team architectural decisions.
