Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking a Principal Android Software Engineer to lead architecture and delivery of shared Android capabilities powering multiple clinical product applications globally.

You will own significant portions of the Android system design, including reusable services, WebView/React UI foundations, device connectivity patterns, and clinical workflows, while mentoring engineers in a regulated medical-device environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with extensive Android app development.
• Proven experience leading architecture and development across multi-product ecosystems.
• Hands-on with Kotlin, Android, networking, DI, multithreading, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve shared Android platform architecture used by multiple product apps.
• Lead design and development of common on-device building blocks (auth, data/workflows, services).
• Partner with product engineering teams to gather requirements and publish clear contracts.
• Set coding standards, lead reviews, and guide testing, CI/CD and release practices for medical software.
• Coach senior and mid-level engineers to improve velocity and maintainability.
