Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC. is seeking a Senior Data Solutions Engineer to join the Data Products & Platforms team. You will shape the analytics data layer, define standardized metrics, and enable trusted, scalable analytics across the organization.

You’ll design analytics-ready datasets in Snowflake, build semantic views, support self-service BI with Sigma and Power BI, and guide data modeling and data quality practices while collaborating with data engineering and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data analytics, analytics engineering, or data engineering.
• Advanced SQL skills; experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
• Experience building ELT pipelines with Coalesce.io, dbt, or comparable frameworks.
• Strong experience supporting BI/analytics tools (Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Deep understanding of data modeling concepts, including fact and dimension tables and star schemas.

Responsibilities

• Design and own analytics-ready datasets in Snowflake via curated ELT pipelines.
• Maintain Snowflake semantic views to standardize KPIs and metrics.
• Translate analytical needs into scalable data solutions for business users.
• Enable self-service analytics across Sigma and Power BI.
• Document datasets, metrics, and analytical models clearly.
• Monitor and improve data quality, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to evolve the analytics layer.
• Support AI and advanced analytics with well-structured data for ML/forecasting.
• Provide senior guidance on analytics engineering best practices and data modeling.
