1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC is seeking a Senior Data Solutions Engineer to join our Data Products & Platforms team. You will shape the analytics data layer, define metrics, and enable trusted, scalable analytics across the organization.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, analytics partners, and data engineers to ensure data reliability and readiness for advanced analytics, AI use cases, and self-service reporting across tools like Sigma and Power BI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data analytics, analytics engineering, or data engineering.
• Advanced SQL with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
• Experience building ELT pipelines with Coalesce.io, dbt, or comparable tools.
• Strong experience supporting BI/analytics tools (Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Deep understanding of data modeling including fact/dimension tables and star schemas.
• Proven ability to translate analytics needs into scalable data solutions.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Data Solutions Engineer to join our growing Data Products & Platforms team. This role is designed for an experienced analytics professional who operates comfortably across analytics and data engineering, serves as a thought partner to the business, and takes ownership of delivering trusted, scalable, analytics-ready data products.

As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in shaping the analytics data layer, defining standardized metrics and datasets, and enabling high-quality reporting and self-service analytics across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders, analytics partners, and data engineering teams to ensure data is reliable, well-documented, and ready to support advanced analytics and AI use cases.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and own analytics-ready datasets in Snowflake using curated ELT pipelines (e.g., Coalesce.io)
• Develop and maintain Snowflake semantic views to standardize business logic, KPIs, and metric definitions across teams
• Act as a trusted partner to business stakeholders by translating analytical needs into scalable, reusable data solutions
• Enable and support self-service analytics across BI tools such as Sigma and Power BI
• Establish and maintain clear documentation for datasets, metrics, and analytical models
• Proactively monitor, validate, and improve data quality, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate closely with data engineering and platform teams to evolve and optimize the analytics data layer
• Support AI and advanced analytics initiatives by delivering well-structured, high-quality datasets suitable for forecasting, machine learning, and generative AI
• Contribute senior-level guidance on analytics engineering best practices, data modeling standards, and dataset design

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, or data engineering roles
• Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses
• Experience building and maintaining ELT pipelines using tools such as Coalesce.io, dbt, or comparable frameworks
• Strong experience supporting BI and analytics tools (e.g., Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
• Deep understanding of data modeling concepts, including fact and dimension tables and star schemas
• Proven ability to work directly with business users and translate complex requirements into effective data solutions
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing or managing semantic layers or metrics layers
• Familiarity with modern data stack best practices and analytics engineering principles
• Experience with data documentation standards, data quality validation, or observability tools
• Exposure to AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics workflows
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams

The expected salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
