Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Analytical Development Senior Research Associate to perform laboratory experiments supporting analytical method development for gene & cell therapy products and other biologics programs.

The role involves data analysis, SOPs, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team in a GMP-like lab. Onsite position at the Boston LC1 site, with emphasis on safety, quality, and timely delivery of results.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell & Molecular Biology or related discipline; MS 0-2 years, BS 2-5 years
• Hands-on experience with analytical method development and release assays is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory experiments to support analytical method development for gene & cell therapy products and biologics
• Conduct sample testing and data analysis with minimal supervision and strong turnaround time
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of experiments, studies, and results
• Author and review SOPs, protocols, and reports
• Troubleshoot and trend assay performance in collaboration with the manager and team
• Present data and provide updates on project progress at team meetings
• Support routine lab operations and service functions to ensure efficient performance
• Work in a GMP-like lab environment
• Manage multiple priorities to meet project timelines
