Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Senior Director, Analytical Development to lead the testing strategy for cell, gene, and biologic therapies. You will guide manual and automated methods, analytics operations, and automation platforms while collaborating with Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Quality to generate high-quality data for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD with progressive leadership experience in pharmaceutical development.
• Experience with Cell Therapy, Biologics, and Genetic therapies is critical.
• Experience leading analytical testing teams and establishing testing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Testing, Operations, and Automation Analytical Development across programs.
• Establish and drive testing strategies using manual and automated methods.
• Lead development, optimization, and qualification of automated analytical methods and end-to-end platforms.
• Oversee laboratory informatics and digitization projects supporting data trends and AI/ML tools.
• Manage reagents, controls, and data integrity across assays.
• Author and review technical documents, protocols, reports and test methods.
• Recruit, mentor and develop talent while managing budget and headcount.
