Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC in Boston is seeking a contract cell and gene analytics specialist for a 6-month assignment to expand testing capabilities and support routine analytical activities across Vertex preclinical, clinical and next generation cell therapy programs.

The role involves hands-on work with cell therapies and techniques including flow cytometry, cell culture, ELISA, MSD and PCR-based assays, with strong SOP/documentation discipline and cross-functional collaboration with Process

Qualifications

Graduate in Cell & Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or related discipline.
MS with 5+ years industrial experience (or BS with 8+ years).
Experience with Flow Cytometry, ELISA, MSD, PCR/qPCR/ddPCR.
Experience with Benchling or similar LIMS.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Actively involved in routine testing to support process development and characterization and release assays for identity, potency, genome profiling and impurities for Vertex preclinical, clinical and next generation cell therapy programs.
Perform sample testing for analytical development team using Flow Cytometry, Cell culture, ELISA, MSD, PCR, residual impurity characterization.
Report on project progress and present data at internal group or project team meetings as needed.
Communicate cross functionally across teams to ensure testing is coordinated.
Coordinate shipment handling, including receiving, logging, and distributing samples and reagents.
Manage and monitor inventory for samples and reagents across multiple projects for accuracy and traceability.
Contribute to data management by maintaining accurate records and completing deliverables.
Support daily Benchling activities related to inventory control, sample tracking, and record maintenance.
Support a Monday to Friday schedule with occasional weekends and second shift coverage; travel between sites within 2 miles.
