Job summary

CenterPoint Energy, Inc. seeks an experienced accounting professional to prepare financial statements and disclosures in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. You will collaborate with finance partners to support external reporting and maintain thorough schedules.

The role offers a hybrid schedule (1 day remote per week), competitive benefits, and a dress-for-your-day approach to attire. CPA-eligible or CPA preferred, with 3+ years of SEC reporting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• CPA certification or CPA-eligible preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, including cash flows and footnotes per US GAAP and SEC.
• Coordinate due diligence on information from business units for external reporting.
• Meet internal and external deadlines with effective time management.
• Support disclosures for new accounting pronouncements and SEC rulings.
• Collaborate with Consolidations to optimize SEC reporting processes.
• Create quarterly and annual disclosure checklists.
• Review XBRL data in Wdesk for SEC filings.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide documentation.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
